The Mission

Making the world of vinyl accessible

You probably know it: Vinyl is making a great comeback! It is not only a timeless medium, it’s also a proper source of income in the times of streaming services.

Yet, many artists face these questions:

  • Where to get a pressing?
  • How many records to press?
  • How much does it cost?

Further, the record industry is at full capacity right now, getting pressings without major connections can be a tough task.

This is where Vinyl as a Service comes in

Offer your album as vinyl and have it pressed the moment it is ordered.

Connect to your Shop or Bandcamp and start selling your music on vinyl immediately. The Vinyl as a Service platform is your fully-digital solution for the production of vinyl records. No more pre-pressing, no more overproduction, no more shipping and storage costs. You only pay if one of your fans actually orders a vinyl record.

Since the setup cost for vinyl production is quite high, it is often only worthwhile with the regular production method for 500+ discs.

We can produce small run of vinyl production because we use a different manufacturing method. This is a bit more expensive than the traditional approach, but especially for small quantities, our method is worth it for you.

Normally, PVC granules are formed into small vinyl cakes in an extruder at a temperature of 160°C. The granules are poured into the extruder in crystal form and formed into small vinyl cakes.

Then a pressing template is heated and pressed into shape with over 100 tons. This creates the grooves and the round shape of the vinyl.

We use an alternate method of manufacturing, as stencil making is only suitable for larger quantities of vinyl.

We cut into a vinyl blank with a graver. This is an innovative method and is worthwhile for small quantities. It does not affect the sound quality and volume of a vinyl.

The regularly used material is not so well suited for recycling. However, there are modern plastics that are made of recycled material and can be returned to the recycling loop.

This is a no waste strategy. We are happy to offer you these sound carriers.

If you have a very high quality vinyl, the sound quality is usually better than the compressed formats like MP3, WAV & Co.

But digital music can also be stored in lossless formats, so it can be the ideal medium.

    So as always: it depends.

Yes, we are manufacturer for small series production of vinyl records.
